Integrated course unit module: CORE ARCHITECTURAL RESTORATION AND REUSE STUDIO

Learning objectives

At the end of the course students will have acquired the necessary tools for the detection of historical artifacts and the ability to produce advanced drawings through which to communicate their design ideas in the specific field of architectural restoration.

At the end of the course the student will have a comprehensive overview of the main survey instruments will possess the theoretical assumptions of the representation of architecture.

At the end of the course the student will be able to design and implement the main processed for the presentation of an architectural project.
Making judgments
At the end of the course the student will be able to identify with the variations of the themes and issues, methods and techniques of representation most appropriate to use for the communication of their work.
communication skills
Since the representation is configured as a de facto one of the main forms of language for communication architecture, passing the exam, the student must necessarily have acquired the ability to communicate their ideas and projects through the design.

Course unit content

The course is aimed at students in the last year, already accustomed to using the representation as a primary tool for the description of the architecture. For this reason, in order to facilitate students in the preparation of graphics boards for a thesis in relief and restoration of historic architecture, the course is divided into a few lectures with the following topics:
- The urban survey as a basis for architectural design;
- The preparation of the documents for the presentation of the project.

Teaching methods

The course will consist of some lectures and a series of individual and collective corrections, for the verification of the drawings made by each student as part of the project activities of the Laboratory of Synthesis.
