Learning objectives
Understanding of theoretical foundations and methods of investigation of human geography.
Acquisition of the main tools for the interpretation of Italian landscapes, their conservation and management.
Prerequisites
Students must have achieved a sufficient historical and geographical training in the previous curriculum.
Course unit content
This course aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge of Human Geography: nodal concepts, sources and methods of investigation. The second part of the course will be dedicated to the critical issues of the landscape, from an historical, social and prescriptive point of view, with particular attention to the relationship between agriculture, local production and environment.

Teaching methods
Lectures. The lessons will be integrated by Laboratorio di lettura e analisi storico-geografica del paesaggio. Rules of conduct will be discussed during the first part of the course.
