Learning objectives

The pre-degree internship is carried out by students of Psychobiology and Cognitive Neurosciences during the
Master's Degree in Psychobiology and Cognitive Neuroscience; its main purposes are:
• integrate theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge,
• learn experimental or clinical procedures related to psychological knowledge,
• critically observe and develop judgment skills on the observed realities,
• start working in a specific professional setting with other people.

Prerequisites

Students can start the internship only after the official start of the second year of the Master's Degree and
after completing the Safety Training Course, delivered in e-learning mode during the first year of the Master's Degree. For the selection of internships abroad, the same principles apply for the internship, in compliance with the current international standards and regulations. In addition, the student who intends to carry out the internship abroad has two options: make a special agreement with the foreign structure, or carry out the internship in Erasmus. As far as Erasmus is concerned, it is essential that the student's Learnig Agreement results in the internship, it is also necessary that the student before leaving for abroad, have, in advance, the Erasmus documentation so that the Tutor can view and the Degree Course Council approves it.

Teaching methods

The pre-graduation internship:
• must have a duration of 200 hours (1 CFU = 25 hours);
• can be carried out without the presence of a psychologist Tutor enrolled in the professional register;
• can be carried out at external structures, or within University Structures and Departments under the
supervision of a professor. If the internship project foresees transfers for data collection, this must be included in the project itself;
• can be carried out in several locations and in different periods.

Assessment methods and criteria

During the pre-graduation internship, the trainee will prepare a report for each training place. The report must be delivered at the end of the entire duration of the internship, in a single solution. Together with the Report, the Internship Booklet, signed by the Tutor, must also be handed in to allow the Trainee Manager to collect the Evaluation Form completed by the Tutor. The guidelines for the preparation of the Report are
published on the website: cdlm-pnc.unipr.it . Each report will be evaluated by the Trainee Manager and the evaluation will be published on the degree course website, well in advance of each recording date. Only after a positive evaluation of both Report and Evaluation Form will it be possible to record the successful
internship on ESSE3.
