  • the discussion of a theoretical argument;
  • the resolution of a specific problem;
  • the description of a work project or an experience made in a company, laboratory or school.

The final paper may be a manuscript, or a project paper, or an electronic paper. In case the student decides not to submit a manuscript, he/she is required to produce a detailed abstract of at least 4 pages, using a template prepared by the Course Council and available on this page.

Scoring and bonuses

The score for admission to the degree examination is given by the ECTS credit-weighted average of the marks achieved in the profit examinations.

The mark for the final examination is:

  • between 0 and 6 points, at the discretion of the committee, if a final paper is submitted;
  • between 0 and 3, at the discretion of the committee, if the student opts for the short abstract the mark is included.

In addition to the cultural content of the thesis, in awarding marks the Commission assesses the candidate's achievement of the following indicators:

  • autonomy of judgement;
  • the ability to clearly communicate the results contained in the thesis;
  • the ability demonstrated by the student to learn the techniques used and to take on board the results contained in the thesis.

In addition to the points awarded for the thesis, students are entitled to a bonus of

  • 2 points if they graduate within 3 academic years of enrolment;
  • 1 point if they graduate within 4 academic years of enrolment.

In order to give concrete support to the internationalisation processes of the Course of Study, a bonus of up to two points is also provided for study activities (also not within the Erasmus programme) carried out abroad, assessed on the basis of duration and qualification. Students wishing to apply for the bonus must apply for it to the Course of Study's internationalisation contact person at least 15 days before the meeting, submitting documentation certifying the study activities undertaken abroad.
The praise proposal must be unanimously approved by the Commission.
The graduation mark is expressed in hundredths and is announced at the proclamation ceremony.
