Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding: to know and understand the course's key concepts and themes;
Ability in applying knowledge and understanding: to propose valid interpretation of the course texts and materials, with due attention to contexts;
Making judgments: this is the main objective of the course, especially about critical awareness in the evaluation of complex social and educational situations;
Communication skills:learning a non-technical but suitable pedagogical lexicon, and being able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders;
Learning skills: being able to reflect in pedagogical terms on a given situation and being able to interconnect it with one's own knowledge, according to individual talents.

Course unit content

Course title: The pedagogic perspective.

The course will try to make students familiar with the pedagogical glance, i.e., to bring about pedagogical instruments and perspectives in reflecting on the contexts and situations that the student will meet as a professional.
After an introduction about some methods and concepts of general pedagogy and their historical development, the course will examine a series of texts and materials which will develop the comprehension of the peculiar pedagogical approach to different social and community contexts.
