Learning objectives

To convey a sufficiently in-depth knowledge of Platonic thought and its implications for the philosophy of subsequent epochs.

Prerequisites

Mastery of the Greek (ancient) language is desirable.

Course unit content

This course will illustrate the main phases of Platonic thought. We will then focus our attention on the doctrines of the great dialogues as well as on Plato's "unwritten doctrines".

In-depth lessons and seminars, with direct discussions between teacher and students.
