Double degree

The Second-cycle degree in International Business and Development offers four double degree courses:

  • Vilnius University (Lithuania);
  • Grenoble Ecole de Management (France);
  • Hochschule Bochum – University of Applied Sciences (Germany);
  • FECAP – Fundação Escola De Comércio Álvares Penteado (Brazil);

The double degree is an integrated study programme that allows students to spend part of their university career abroad at a partner university under an agreement, obtaining, at the end of the course, both an Italian and a foreign degree and ensuring that their degree is recognised in both countries.
The main features of double (and also multiple or joint) degree courses are:

  • mobility: the student attends part of his or her career at the University of Parma and part at the foreign universities involved;
  • full recognition of the activities carried out abroad;
  • at the end of the course, attainment of a double degree (one from the University of Parma and one from the foreign partner university), a multiple degree (one from the University of Parma and at least two others from foreign partner universities) or joint degree (a single degree awarded by the University and at least one partner university).

Economics Faculty of Vilnius University (Lithuania)

The double degree with the Economics Faculty of Vilnius University (Lithuania) has been an additional opportunity for IBD students since 2012. Both degree courses are delivered in English.  By spending a semester at Vilnius and passing examinations there, Parma students can obtain 30 ECTS credits valid for the IBD degree, and be awarded a double degree from Parma and Vilnius University. Vilnius students are offered the same opportunity to study IBD in Parma.

Grenoble Ecole de Management (France)

The double degree with the Grenoble Ecole de Management (France) is open to IBD, ADA (Business Management) and CLEM (Economics and Management) students of the Department of Economics and Management. A specific joint agreement between the University of Parma and the Grenoble Ecole de Management signed in February 2022 provides a double degree covering “International Business and Development” at Parma and the second level degree in “Management” at the Grenoble Ecole de Management. By spending one year at Grenoble and passing examinations there, Parma students can obtain 60 ECTS credits valid for the IBD degree, and be awarded a double degree from Parma and the Grenoble Ecole de Management. Grenoble students are offered the same opportunity to study IBD in Parma.
