Learning objectives

Acquisition of the research methods and scientific tools necessary to the comprehension and the exegesis of Greek texts and for the purposes of preparing a scientific paper.

Prerequisites

Students must have obtained 10 learning credits (Module A + B) in the scientific subject area of “Early Christian literature" or have obtained 10 learning credits (Module A + B) in Greek Literature.

Course unit content

Course title: Initiatory cursus in late Greek civilisation. <br />
The course is structured in a single module which will deal with phenomena of reinterpretation, on the part of gnosticism and other currents, of Greek cultural and religious aspects (in particular initiatory/mystery rituals). <br />

Teaching methods

The course consists of classroom lectures supplemented by weekly tutorials; student participation in seminars and conferences is also required. <br />
For assessment purposes, there will be an oral test on the various parts of the syllabus. <br />
