- Physiological and pathological mechanisms for the development of acute and chronic pain; most common painful syndromes; patient presentation in the primary care office/emergency department/ward.
- Most commonly used drugs for the treatment of pain; mechanisms of action; adverse effects; therapeutical strategies.
- Interventional procedures for the treatment of pain; when to refer patients; risks and benefits.
