Teaching methods

The student must contact directly the supervisor and give him the "Entry Form in Thesis" duly completed and signed. At the end of the work of compilative or experimental thesis, the student will have to make available to the Examining Board a copy of the thesis which will be summarized through an oral presentation (about 10 minutes) with the use of computer support

Assessment methods and criteria

The Examining Board after having approved the thesis will proceed with the assignment of the vote on a 110 basis. The final score is composed of a "base" score, resulting from the arithmetic average of the marks obtained in the individual exams expressed increased as follows:
- a maximum of 3 points (compilative thesis) or 6 points (experimental thesis) assigned by the supervisor on the basis of the achievement of the objectives set by the first three Dublin descriptors: knowledge and understanding, ability to apply the acquired knowledge and information during the work of thesis and autonomy of judgment in carrying out the work;
- a maximum of 2 points awarded at the graduate level by the Examining Board on the basis of the ability to discuss and support the theses formulated in the curriculum as well as on the basis of communication skills and clarity shown by the student in presenting the work performed;
- 1 point if the "base" score is equal to or greater than 100/110;
- 1 point if the master's degree is achieved "in progress" (within 5 years, established as the legal duration of the course of study, starting from the year of matriculation);
- 1 point if the student has acquired at least 9 credits in activities carried out abroad
- 1 point if the student has participated in the TECO project (Test on Generalist Competences of Italian undergraduates promoted by ANVUR).
With the unanimous opinion of the Commission, the honors can be awarded only if the "basic" score is equal to or higher than 102/110. The Commission, at its discretion, can attribute the 110/110 evaluation to the final year students with a total score of 109/110. The degree exams are public.
