The goal of the course is to provide an in-depth knowledge on web-services and e-commerce technology, with the main aim of enabling students to design and implement systems for e-commerce.

Introduction to web services. Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). Web Services Description Language (WSDL). XML Registries and Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI). Realizing web services in Java. Web Services security aspects. <br />Introduction to e-commerce. E-commerce reference architectures. Business models. Market and networks. E-commerce frameworks ebXML. ebXML Registry Architecture, ebXML Business Process. Security aspects. Comparison between UDDI and ebXML. E-commerce project.<br />

Teaching methods
Students evaluation is based on a coursework and an oral exam. Laboratory lessons have the goal of providing a good knowledge on web services and e-commerce technology through the design and realization of a software system.
