Learning objectives
The student will acquire the fundamental knowledge regarding communication processes as processes of social and cultural construction of knowledge, the ability to apply these concepts to the contemporary social processes, and in particular the ability to explain the resentment and violence that characterize our time.

Course unit content
The topic of the first part of the lessons will be the basic notions about the relationsuìhip between perception, knowledge, emotion, communication and culture.
The topic of the second part will be, more specifically, the notion of resentment, sociologically interpretated as a collective emotion proper of the modernity.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, consisting of a short essay on an episode interpreted as a concrete case of 'resentment'. The oral exam is optional, subject to obtaining the written exam with a minimum score of 25/30.
