Course unit content
Perioperative Medicine has the purpose of accompanying people suffering from surgical diseases in a structured and standardized pathway that guarantees a quality of care during the period prior to surgery, during and after surgery. These pathways also referred to as "clinical pathways" are coordinated by experienced nurses who share the process with patients and with a multi-professional team that is essential to respond effectively to the priority health problems of assistants. The care complexity of patients entering these pathways requires an approach based on the critical capacity of nurses in identifying priority health problems, setting targeted targets, and appropriate interventions tailored to personalization of care.
Selective collaborative interventions must meet EBN and EBM requirements in order to ensure patient safety and to pursue the appropriateness of the procedures.
